Greetings Christ the Teacher School Community:
Each year, the Diocese of Wilmington chooses a theme rooted in the Gospel and serves as the anchor for the school year. This year, the theme is “We Walk by Faith”. I often reflect on our school’s name, “Christ the Teacher”. Of all the images of our Lord and Savior, my favorite is that of a teacher. He used lessons and stories to bring us closer to God and understand our faith. Who at one point in their lives hasn’t been the prodigal son, the lost sheep, the faithful servant? Jesus’ lessons were filled with messages of the Kingdom of God, challenging us to deepen our faith and trust in Him.
Christ the Teacher Catholic School’s mission is to bring forth and develop saints and scholars each day. Our four core values, Excellence, Hospitality, Service, and Mercy, challenge us to live the teachings of Jesus. We value strong academic instruction, collaboration, serving others in our local and global communities, joy, and, above all, strengthening our faith each day. Our day begins and ends with prayer and is filled with hard work, laughter, play, and care for each other. We are a school community proud to bear the name Christ the Teacher.
On behalf of our entire community, I welcome all to experience the joy we live each day as a proud Catholic school in Delaware!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelly M Lanza
